Safeguarding children and young people is at the heart of everything we do at Football Development East. As a specialist, SEND-inclusive provider, we recognise that every child is different and that some children may need additional support with communication, regulation, mobility, toileting, personal care or understanding risk in order to participate safely and with dignity. Our safeguarding arrangements are designed around the individual child: we listen, make reasonable adjustments, plan support wherever possible and, if an unexpected welfare need arises, we will never knowingly leave a child unsafe or distressed simply because they require additional assistance. Our staff work within clear safeguarding, safer-working and recording procedures, with appropriate checks and training, and we follow current statutory guidance and relevant FA and NHS guidance, including robust procedures for medical emergencies, concussion and adverse weather. FDE does not take chances with children's welfare: safeguarding, dignity, inclusion and the best interests of the child come before participation, competition or convenience.
